Family Workshop: Sustainable Stories Inspired by Our National Parks
A creative family workshop for children and young people to imagine a more sustainable future through storytelling and drawing.
Venue: Market Hall
Date: Fri 22nd Aug | 10:30 am - 12:00 pm
Description
Join us for a short but inspiring family-friendly workshop where you’ll explore the wonders of our National Parks, hear from local experts and storytellers, and create your own stories for a greener future. Be prepared to be curious, get creative, and use your imagination!
We’ll start by hearing inspiring local voices about our National Parks and the animals that live there, before guiding you through creating your very own nature-inspired stories.
This free event is designed especially for children aged 5–13 and their families. All children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. No previous storytelling or drawing experience needed – just bring your curiosity.
Together, we’ll spark ideas about what the future of our National Parks could look like, and what stories you want to share about nature, climate change and your own experiences.
Designed and organised by Emily Barrett, this workshop is a creative and fun opportunity for young people and families to imagine and create a more sustainable future for nature through creative writing. It is supported by a storytelling grant, as part of the “New Perspectives” programme by Campaign for National Parks – a national initiative championing young voices and fresh ideas about People, Climate and Nature in our National Parks.
