Description

Learn basics of your sewing machine through to drafting your own pattern so you get all the knowledge on all aspects of sewing.

This two-day course, led by professional upcycling designers Abigail Schaefer from Mukta_un_done in collaboration with Lizzy Evans from Make at 140, aims to foster creativity, environmental consciousness, and hands-on skills.

Sustainable and slow fashion has become one of the most significant movements in the quest for a greener and more earth-friendly manufacturing industry. Upcycling, in particular, stands out as an effective way to create new garments using surplus textiles that have already undergone the manufacturing process. By reusing these materials, designers can produce new looks with minimal environmental impact.

Back to basics and beyond, this course will cover the basics of your sewing machine through to drafting your own pattern so you get all the knowledge on all aspects of sewing.

All materials provided but if you have any old stretch joggers/jumpers you would like to use bring these with you.

If you have a sewing machine it is great to bring it with you a really get to know how to use it properly, or you can use one of ours.
